To Ktesippus and Ptolemaios, greetings to all who are in the tent. You are doing well.
If you are in good health. I am also well. Having come to Androtele, I found
everyone in good health and Berenike, the daughter, having given birth to a female child,
and everything has happened to her according to reason. Therefore, I say, as you have requested,
to send the quickest message, so that you and Ptolemaios, what you promised
in Hierai Nēsos, may prepare, so that when I come, I may take it.
Take care also of Androtele, the father, and doing this, it will be a favor to me.

To Ktesippos, to Ptolemaios, and to all those in the camp, greetings. You do well if you are in good health. I myself am also well. Upon arriving at Androteles' place, I found everyone in good health, and Berenike, his daughter, has given birth to a girl, and everything has gone according to expectation. Therefore, as you requested that I inform you as quickly as possible, please prepare the promised good-news gifts (εὐαγγέλια), which you and Ptolemaios pledged at Hier[a] Nesos, so that I may receive them upon my arrival. Also, take care of Androteles, the father; by doing this, you will please me.
Year 16, Artemision 6.
“To Ktesippos and Ptolemaios and all those at the stage: greetings. You are doing well if you are in good health; I too am in good health. When I came to Androteles, I found everyone well, and (I found) Berenike, the daughter, having given birth to a female child, and everything has turned out for her as expected. Therefore I say—as you requested—that you inform me as quickly as possible, so that you and Ptolemaios may get ready the ‘good news’ (the promised gift), which you promised to give on Hiera Nesos (Sacred Island), so that when I come I may receive it. Take care also of Androteles, the father; and by doing this you will do me a favor. Year 16, day 6 of Artemision. (Address:) To Ktesippos.”
