I greet you. I agree to have received from you the thirty-five measures of wine which I have written down to give into the solitary of my possessions of the vineyard concerning the previously written village in a private allotment of the honor of each measure of copper for silver of seven hundred drachmas which becomes copper for silver five talents of one thousand five hundred drachmas, (they become) (talents) e (drachmas) Af, which I will also arrange at the royal table until Mecheir the thirtieth of the fourteenth year or I will pay half. I have also written down thirty drachmas of the figs. And let the action be to you from me and all my possessions acting towards the royal. Be well. (of the year) 14 Mecheir 24.

English Translation

Macedon, holder of thirty arouras,
and to Isidoros [and those who have received] the apomoira (tax),
greetings. I acknowledge that I have received from you
the forty-five measures of wine which I agreed to give as the apomoira
from my vineyard located near the aforementioned village, in my own private allotment,
at the price of seven hundred drachmas of bronze per measure, which amounts to
five talents and one thousand five hundred drachmas of bronze (total: 5 talents, 1500 drachmas),
which I will also pay to the royal treasury by the 30th of Mecheir of the fourteenth year,
or else I will pay one and a half times the amount. I have also additionally recorded thirty drachmas
for the fig fruits. You shall have the right of execution against me and all my property
for the royal dues.

“Macedon, (owner of) thirty arourae, to Isidoros and the others who have taken up the apomoira (the due/levy), greetings. I acknowledge that I have received from you the forty-five metretai of wine which I agreed in writing to give for the apomoira from my vineyard located near the aforesaid village, in my private allotment, at a valuation of seven hundred drachmas (in bronze, reckoned against silver) for each metretes; which amounts (in bronze reckoned against silver) to five talents and one thousand five hundred drachmas; total: five talents and 1,500 drachmas. These I will also pay into the royal bank by the 30th of Mecheir of the fourteenth year, or else I will pay an additional half again (a 50% surcharge). And I have additionally assessed also for the produce of the fig-trees thirty drachmas. And let execution/collection be available to you from me and from all my property, for the collector, in matters pertaining to the royal (revenues). Farewell. Year 14, Mecheir 24.”
