After the consulship of our lord Honorius, the eternal Augustus, for the 11th time, and of Flavius Constantius, the most illustrious, on Pharmouthi 4.
Aurelia Asenneth, daughter of Paulus, (and) of the mother Thekla, from the settlement of Alkonios in the Oxyrhynchite nome, to Aurelius Chairemon, son of Serenus, from the splendid and most splendid city of the Oxyrhynchites, greetings.
I acknowledge that I have received from you, as an advance/loan (for an advance of funds) which I require from you, through the hand (i.e., paid out) from your household, gold coins—simple, imperial, full-weight, approved—two in number; total: 2 coins as principal.
On condition that I remain with you and carry out blamelessly the orders laid upon me by you, with an irreproachable intention; and whenever I wish to depart from you, or whenever you yourself may wish, it is necessary for me to furnish to you, without any additional charge, the aforesaid two gold coins immediately, enforcement being available to you both against me and against all my property.
This document (written) in duplicate is valid; and, when questioned, I have acknowledged (it).
I, Aurelia Asenneth daughter of Paulus, have received as an advance the two gold coins, and everything agrees for me as set forth above.
I, Aurelius Hermeias, wrote on her behalf, since she is illiterate.
Handwritten note/signature of Asenneth, daughter of Paulus.
