To Polyidos, chief bodyguard and strategos, from the royal sieve-workers from Oxyrhynchus in the Polemon district. Although we provide the royal requirements fully and eagerly and without complaint—both sesame and grain produce and the other items— on the 13th of the present month, while we were working at the cavalry threshing-floor, with the approval of the logeutes and according to the customary decision, (handling) the produce belonging to Demetrios of the settler-cavalrymen, Atarrias son of Ptolemaios, one of the soldiers, came upon the threshing-floor and, using no proper order/discipline, inflicted many blows upon us; and after smashing all the farming tools he rendered them useless— tools which we also happen to have handed over to the village superintendent and sealed up for Apollonios.
