Textual Notes
- Alternative or overlapping readings: the supplied text includes Πλήνιος / Πλῆνις / Πλήνιος, πεντηκοστῆς / πεντηκ, Μεμνονείων / Μεμνονίων, Σαχομνέως / Σαχομμνέους, and μισθὸν / μισθὼν. These have not all been repeated in the reconstructed text.
- Opening formula: the repeated χαίρειν (“greetings”) and the sequence Ἐπῶτος Σαχούμνει Σαχουμνεους cannot be resolved confidently from the supplied text alone.
- πεντηκοστῆς: literally “of the fiftieth,” often referring to a one-fiftieth tax or duty. Its exact administrative meaning here is uncertain.
- Numbers and units: η 𐅷 means 8⅔; ιγ means 13; ιε means 15. A naubion is a unit used for measuring earthwork.
- πω: this isolated sequence is preserved in brackets but is not translated, since its role in the sentence is unclear.
