English translation

Papnouthes, guard, through the lord Phoibammon, son of Leontios, to his brother Phoibammon, son of Triadelphos.

I have received from you, against the written note, thirty artabas of wheat—making 30 artabas—from the harvest of the third indiction. I have drawn up this document for your protection, as stated above. Epeiph 15, in the third indiction.

I, Papnouthes, the aforementioned guard, acknowledge the receipt as stated above.

I, Theologios, son of Mousaios, wrote on his behalf at his request, since he does not know how to write; I also drew up the body of the document.

I, John, son of Hermeios, bear witness to the receipt as stated above.
